After winning the Big-12 championship game and squashing South Dakota State in the opening round, the second-seeded Cyclones continued the momentum to travel to a 62-51 2nd round success over Washington State.

The win enabled Iowa State to advance to the Sweet 16 for the 2nd time in the last 3 seasons. The win came regardless of Washington State going out to an early lead and the group’s being connected at 27 at halftime.
