I am Rooted, But I Flow
German artist Axel Kasseböhmer’s solo launching in Asia, entitled Qi Lü (or ‘I am rooted, however I stream’), explores his last landscape series motivated by Lake Walchensee. Reviewing the reflective power of nature, Kasseböhmer’s works resonate with Eastern ‘scholar’s rocks’ custom, connecting Western landscape art with Eastern ‘Shanshui’ viewpoint. This exhibit produces a meditative area, welcoming audiences to journey as both tourists within mini landscapes and observers of the German Alps, experiencing art through the linked lenses of East and West.

A New Message Just In
A New Message Just In’ reveals art work from trainees at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. The size of their works resembles that of postcards or letters. They sturdily tape the feelings and states that the artists wish to reveal in today. They are waiting, patiently, for us to open them. These winter season letters are little yet filled with warm feelings. Getting in each little painting resembles entering a winter season day in the South: take pleasure in that very first fresh air after you press the door, please hang on to the short lived impression of that minute.
