That wasn’t enough to stop Black. Thanks to Gangrel’s assistance, Copeland ultimately got the chance to utilize the barbed wire on Black to get a crossface secured. Black lost consciousness, and Copeland was triumphant.

Copeland, 50, made his surprise AEW launching in 2015 at WrestleDream, and it took him simply over 5 months to enjoy his very first real title reign.

While the WWE Hall of Famer previously referred to as Edge beat long time buddy Christian Cage for the TNT title at Worlds End in December, Christian instantly won it back by moneying in a champion chance on the area.

About 3 months later on, The Rated-R Superstar challenged Cage for the title once again on an episode of Dynamite in his home town of Toronto, and he was triumphant.

In the weeks that followed, Copeland set up the Cope Open, which was a series of open obstacles that saw Copeland beat the similarity Matt Cardona and Penta El Zero Miedo.

Beginning in late April, Copeland participated in a competition with your home of Black due to Malakai Black’s desire to take him down and win the TNT title.

Black, Buddy Matthews and Brody King struck a significant blow to Copeland’s mind by beating Copeland, Eddie Kingston and Mark Briscoe in a six-man tag group match at Dynasty last month.

Matthews and King then challenged Copeland for the TNT title on back-to-back editions of Dynamite, however Copeland kept each time.

Copeland’s last agenda in his fight with your home of Black was to beat the leader, so he challenged Black to a barbed wire steel cage match at Double or Nothing.

In combination with accepting the difficulty, Black had Matthews and King attack Copeland and take his wedding event ring, including a lot more fuel to their dispute.
