SMU protective back AJ Davis was stretchered off the field and required to a regional healthcare facility after suffering an injury that led to neck discomfort in the 2nd quarter of Saturday night’s home video game versus Pitt.

The SMU redshirt sophomore was taken into a neck brace while being filled into the ambulance. Davis’ household, all using his No. 14, came onto the field at Gerald J. Ford Stadium throughout the interruption in play, per Vannini.
Lashlee stated in an interview aired on the ACC Network that the group was “extremely positive” about Davis’ status (h/t On3’s Billy Embody.)
