4,500-home Manchester Holt Town plan advances

Studio Egret West will lead the multi-disciplinary group to redevelop a 30 hectares swathe of post-industrial land that sits in between the city centre and the Etihad Stadium to the East of main Manchester.

The rest of group consists of Deloitte, Dutch city designers MVRDV NEXT, Turley, AKT II, Hilson Moran, Deetu and Hatch, which bring a mix of regional, nationwide and global experience to the program.

Manchester City Council is dealing with Homes England and GMCA to assist direct the long-lasting financial investment prepare for this regrowth location.

The draft strategy will be prepared in the coming months before assessment later on this year.

Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council stated: “I’m delighted with the action we got for this chance to support the next phase of Holt Town’s regrowth journey. The effective submission shows Holt Town’s prospective to produce a brand-new town in the city for a growing Manchester.
