San Francisco 49ers wideout Brandon Aiyuk is going into the last year of his novice agreement and had an intriguing response for press reporters back in February when asked if he prepared to stay with the group.
“If that's the ideal relocation, yeah,” he stated, including that the ideal relocation would be “being a champ.”
That opened speculation and ultimately reports that he might possibly be a trade alternative for the Niners this offseason if the 2 sides do not lock down a long-lasting extension, though his colleague, Deebo Samuel, thinks he'll go back to the group.
“Yeah, I like that guy,” he stated throughout Wednesday's Up and Adams program (9:00 mark). “I do not see him leaving. I do not see him leaving.”
“If you take a look at his numbers from when he got to the league and now, it's constantly a various kind of leap,” he continued. “And so, like I informed him, I stated, ‘Hey, guy, you put yourself in a position to be where you wish to be.' He's up for a brand-new offer and things like that. And I simply informed him, since I've been through it, it's not going to be all great and dandy like you believe it's going to be. You've got to persevere.”
Aiyuk, 25, had a profession year in 2023, capturing 75 passes for 1,342 backyards and 7 ratings. He's become among the league's leading weapons at pass receiver, and the Niners are a problem for opposing defenses with him, Samuel, Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle.
In the meantime, nevertheless, Aiyuk's future with the group appears to be in some doubt.
