FSRU reaches NFE’s Barcarena LNG terminal in Brazil

U.S. energy facilities business New Fortress Energy (NFE) has actually invited the drifting storage and regasification system (FSRU) Energos Celsius at its LNG terminal in Barcarena, Brazil.

NFE revealed the arrival of Energos Celsius through social networks on February 23, 2024.

The 160,000 cubic meter Energos Celsius left Seatrium’s shipyard in Singapore in December 2023 after the conversion work. The system has a small regasification capability of 750– 1,000 million basic cubic feet daily.

The FSRU will belong of NFE’s LNG terminal advancement at Barcarena, that includes a long-lasting gas agreement to provide Norsk Hydro at the Alunorte alumina refinery, a 630 MW gas-to-power job under building and construction by NFE and additional power and fuel growth tasks in the area.

The Barcarena LNG import terminal is stated to be the very first LNG import center in the state of Pará and the Northern area of Brazil.

In November 2023, NFE performed conclusive contracts to money as much as $575 million in asset-based funding to finish the building and construction of its 630 MW Barcarena power plant.
