Saturday was possibly the heading day at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, as the quarterbacks, running backs, and pass receivers went through their exercises at Lucas Oil Stadium.
While it is typically the quarterbacks who move the needle, Texas pass receiver Xavier Worthy definitely is going to gather his share of headings. Why? Since Worthy simply engraved his name in NFL Scouting Combine history.
As the possibility with the fastest 40-yard dash ever tape-recorded at the Combine:
Deserving's 4.21-second 40-yard dash enters into the books simply ahead of the 4.22-second 40-yard dash taped by pass receiver John Ross ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft. As shared by ESPN's Adam Schefter, these are now the fastest 40-yard times published at the NFL Scouting Combine:
Fastest 40 times in integrate history:
Xavier Worthy 4.21
John Ross 4.22
Kalon Barnes 4.23
Chris Johnson 4.24
Tariq Woolen 4.26
Dri Archer 4.26
Marquise Goodwin 4.27
Henry Ruggs III 4.27
Stanford Routt 4.27

Entering the NFL Scouting Combine, Worthy was deemed a second-round possibility. According to NFL Mock Draft Database Deserving is ranked 44th-overall on the “Consensus Big Board.”
Worthwhile captured 75 passes for 1,014 backyards and 5 goals this season as Texas advanced to the College Football Playoff. Over his three-year profession at Texas, he captured 197 passes for 2,755 backyards and 26 goals.
And now he owns a piece of NFL Combine history.
