Kids of the Sun is a bullet-bending puzzle video game embeded in a trippy world of cults and vengeance, and it’s due to strike PC through Steam on April 9. In Kids of the Sungamers line up a single sniper shot and after that manage the bullet as it ricochets amongst the cultists in their sights. The objective is to take everybody out with the most speed, beauty and imagination, curving the bullet around the environment and through items as the targets try to run away in sluggish movement. It’s a repeatable, rewarding set of mechanics.

It’s not all ridiculous violence, either. The sniper is called The Girl, and she’s a previous cult member who matured as a victim of its brainwashing. She’s now on an objective to take apart the cult, member by member and bullet by bullet, before lastly securing The Leader. Yes, there is violence in the video game, however it’s not totally ridiculous

The environments in Kids of the Sun have a high-contrast, demonic radiance about them, and the opponents look like thermally lit skeletons as The Girl spies on them, lining up each shot. The visuals alone provide the video game an unforeseeable, adrenaline-fueled edge.

Kids of the Sun originates from René Rother, a designer who’s huge on the planet of video game jams. Rother has a history of structure minimalistic video games with loud messages about violence and death– or, often, chewing gum. Kids of the Sun is released by Devolver Digital.

I value everybody who offered the Demo a minute of their time … So now that release date is public, I think I lastly require to really complete the video game. Ha!”
