Khamzat Chimaev is reacting after Kamaru Usman declared that he’s ‘absolutely nothing unique’ in the cage.
It was Kamaru Usman (20-4 MMA) vs. the unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev (13-0 MMA) in a middleweight bout last October at UFC 294. The result was a bulk choice loss for ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’.
With that defeat, Usman at 36, has 3 successive losses in the cage.
On the ‘Pound 4 Pound’ podcast with Henry Cejudo, Usman was asked if he saw something unique in Chimaev, to which he reacted:
“You get in those kind of battles and those positions to where you develop something up in your mind and in your head. And everybody’s now– particularly now in this device of the UFC, of MMA– you develop him up in your head.”
“Then you act and you go, ‘That wasn’t unique.’ There was absolutely nothing various that I have not seen. Had I offered it a bit more, had I have actually offered myself a bit more credit, that would have ended up completely various.”
Continuing, Kamaru Usman played out the battle stating:
“We go out there, and right now he conjectures, and I’m similar to, ‘Oh, sh * t. He’s a bit larger than I believed, however absolutely nothing unique. He’s on leading and I’m like, ‘These strikes do not truly injured. Absolutely nothing unique.'”
Concluding, Usman stated:

Chimaev nor Usman have actually had their next challengers called or a timeframe set out for their go back to the Octagon.
