It appears PFL is interested in possibly signing Muhammad Mokaev.

The UFC chose not to re-sign Mokaev after he battled out his agreement with a choice win over Manel Kape at UFC 304 in July. Mokaev was branded as difficult to deal with, triggering PFL president Ray Sefo to state he’s withdrawn in signing Mokaev, who he heard is a “annoyance to handle.”

PFL CEO Pete Murray believes otherwise. PFL does not presently have a flyweight department, however Murray still sees Mokaev as deserving skill to sign.

“I do believe the flyweight classification is something we will be entering in the future,” Murray informed Sherdog. “I understand our guys are taking a look at it. You take a look at fighters like Muhammad Mokaev, he’s a 13-0 flyweight from Dagestan. This kid has the second-longest winning streak in UFC flyweight history. He was 23-0 as an amateur. When I take a look at a kid like that, that’s a chance.

“Whether it’s Muhammad entering into the PFL system in among our franchises, whether that be the international season or Bellator, and others like him, I believe it’s a genuine chance– in specific with worldwide skill in the flyweight weight class. Muhammad is the genuine offer, a great deal of regard for him.”

Murray believes he might construct the flyweight department through somebody like Mokaev.

“I think Muhammad Mokaev might definitely be the future face of flyweights within the Professional Fighters League, must that be a weight class we open in the Global Season or within our Bellator platform,” Murray stated. “It’s definitely something we’re taking a look at, and this kid is remarkable.”
