Make no error about it– I'm a fan of how the Apple Vision Pro can transfer you somewhere else, particularly through the deeply immersive– and often fantastical– virtual environments you can drop into. Apple has its own set baked into VisionOS, with more showing up in VisionOS 2 later on in 2024, however third-party applications have their own.
I invested the weekend solely under the sea previewing a brand-new one from Paramount Plus, and folks, as a SpongeBob SquarePants fan, it's quite darn cool. To commemorate 25 years of SpongeBob SquarePants, Paramount Plus and the group at Nickelodeon are debuting a ‘Bikini Bottom' environment for the Apple Vision Pro.
It'll carry you to Conch Street to see the popular pineapple under the sea, Patrick's rock, and Squidward's simple residence. The genuine enjoyable begins when you understand it's not simply a visual reward– it's interactive, too. You can take a look around and open doors– or rather the cover for Patrick– to hear sound bites, making the experience genuinely engaging.

On the Apple Vision Pro, to check out Bikini Bottom, you'll just require to download Paramount Plus and check in; from there, you'll open the mountains icon for environments on the left-hand side and engage Bikini Bottom. Provide it a minute, and you'll discover the familiar landscape of Bikini Bottom, which must be identifiable to any fan of the animation.
You'll discover SpongeBob's home, Squidward and Patrick's to your left, and some Bikini Bottom animals to your. Even cooler is the attention to information. When it opens, a string of bubbles increases to the top, and you can even pop them by taking a look at them and carrying out a single tap. Most significantly, however, the program's renowned storyteller welcomes you with a friendly and inviting, “Ah the sea.”
If you look over to SpongeBob and click his door, you'll see Gary the snail and hear a meow. Doing the exact same to Squidward's front door will debut a well-known quote or more. The exact same chooses Patrick, in which the rock turns open, and you'll discover the character inside.

There is a mini-game here too– you can capture Jellyfish either in a totally free mode or in a timed obstacle. It's quite standard, however you'll see a selection of vibrant jellyfish fly around the Bikini Bottom environment, and you'll take a look at when and tap your fingers together to capture one, in which a jellyfish web will appear and amazingly swoosh to get it. It's a little a standard experience, however, and while I get that it's part of an interactive environment, it would have been cool to have you in fact swing the internet. One can want for the future?
