Routh was detained after a Secret Service representative saw his rifle poking through a chain-link fence at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, while the previous president was playing golf.
The DOJ, in a court filing today, launched Routh’s letter “to the world,” in which he discussed his effort was “an assassination effort on Donald Trump.” Routh used $150,000 to somebody who might “finish the task” if he stopped working.
The letter was launched as proof in a detention memo by the Justice Department in an effort to make sure Routh’s detention.

“During your period as Attorney General, the Department has actually usually declined to launch information about so-called ‘manifestos’ composed by the wrongdoers of prominent criminal activities,” Jordan composed. “Yet, previously today, in a public court filing, the Department launched a letter in which the guy who looked for to assassinate President Donald J. Trump in Florida on September 15, 2024, provided a $150,000 bounty on President Trump.”
Jordan cautioned that the choice to launch that manifesto “appears to contravene the Department’s mentioned policy that ‘public access to tradition tokens,’ more frequently referred to as manifestos, ‘will add to additional attacks’ by ‘stimulate[ing] exceptionally extreme interest and research study’ by prospective copycat wrongdoers and offering a plan for future enemies.”

“The Department’s choice to transmit the tried assassin’s bounty on President Trump– at the exact same time that the Department is strongly and unconstitutionally prosecuting President Trump– raises substantial issue that the Department might trigger extra damage to happen,” Jordan composed.
