Terence Crawford on Anthony Joshua’s Road to Redemption
Terence Crawford had a chat with media members following the battle. Prior to the bout, “Bud” stated he saw Daniel Dubois vs. Anthony Joshua as a gamble. In the after-effects, he wasn’t amazed by the outcome (by means of BoxingScene.com).
“No, not [was it a shock],” Crawford informed the media while leaving the arena. “The much better guy was going to win, and Dubois was the much better male. He took advantage of Joshua’s faults and won the battle. … It was an excellent battle. I believe Joshua got overconfident [right before the fight ended]He injured him with a shot and opted for the kill, however he forgot his defense and forgot the principles.”
As far as whether Joshua can dust himself off and recover, Crawford is uncertain.
“Uh, I do not understand [if Joshua can come back from this],” stated Crawford. “Joshua has actually remained in a great deal of wars. He combated a great deal of excellent fighters. I believe he can, however it’s going to be difficult due to the fact that he has a great deal of wear and tear on his body.”
Joshua does have a rematch provision, and Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn anticipates him to exercise it.
