The New York Mets dealt with down removal in Milwaukee on Thursday night, and very first baseman Pete Alonso understood what his group required at the top of the ninth inning.
Scoreless and down 2 go to the Brewers, Alonso blasted a crowning achievement out of American Family Field with 2 runners on base to offer the Mets a 3-2 lead late in the playoff contest. He understood it instantly after the hit.
As far as 2024 MLB playoff dramatics go, Alonso’s late-game heroics will decrease in Mets legend. If you’re a Brewers fan, you may not wish to enjoy this clip once again after dropping the video game, 4-2, right at the end.
Alonso’s three-run homer was a harsh swing for Milwaukee and a conserving grace for New York.
