“When my spouse saw it, she wept due to the fact that it was so stunning. And after that she turned to me and stated the sweetest thing: ‘Try not to touch anything,'” composes Seth Meyers of his Ashe Leandro-designed home in the foreword of the interior decoration and architectural company's brand-new book, Ashe Leandro: Architecture + Interiors, out now from Rizzoli. The 16-year-old company's very first book functions 8 of the New York-based duo's current jobs, from the magnificently layered Gramercy Park townhouse of artist Rashid Johnson to a Georgica Pond Long Island home with an air of zen. Seth's Martha's Vineyard home, which he shows his partner, Alexi Ashe (sis to Ariel), and his kids, is amongst the classy mix.
A Noguchi pendant light is suspended next to the two-story high stone and plaster fireplace. Antique discovers surround the hearth, consisting of firetools from RT Facts in Kent, Connecticut and coil baskets from the regional Chilmark Flea Market.

Finished in 2022, the home was a pandemic-era task for which Ariel Ashe and Reinaldo Leandro state they were basically provided carte blanche. Asked what the instruction was from Seth and Alexi, Ariel states, “We have actually dealt with them many times that they didn't have one!”
The brand-new develop beings in the town of Chilmark on Martha's Vineyard, on a plot of land straight abutting the Ashes' moms and dads' summer season home. The intense color of the cedar slabs (they avoided the more conventional cedar shingles to offer the home a contemporary style) that cover the barn-like structure shows the home's newness. (Ariel describes that it will weather to a gray to match the Martha's Vineyard vernacular.) In the meantime, the frame of the home was built with recovered wood, which was mainly left exposed in the interior and offers a stunning patina to the areas that look far beyond their years.
Behind the living-room sits the kitchen area. Twin pendants by Rose Uniacke hover above the island which is painted black– now a signature of the household.

Outdoors, a mix of paned glass and photo windows include a layered want to the barn-like home. There are stones artfully scattered about the yard– collected and initial to the home– and a standard New England stone wall runs the length of the backyard. “The home is surrounded by farms and farmland, it required to connect to that. The products are mainly recovered and rugged, so they can take sandy feet, ice cream leaks, and great deals of playing and amusing. Humor lives there,” includes Ariel.
