Wicked motion picture director Jon M. Chu is motivating audience members to make an uncommon demand when they see the movie in theaters.
Chu, who helmed Universal Pictures’ function adjustment of the smash Broadway musical, required to X (previously Twitter) on the opening night to publish that audiences need to ask their theater to increase the volume for the musical’s noise. Wicked informs the story of The Wizard of Oz’s characters before Dorothy’s arrival, with Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.
“Tell your cinema to turn it approximately a 7 … I’ve gone to a couple screenings and they are more like a 6.4,” Chu composed. “If you desire it the method it was meant 7 is the method.”
Amongst those reacting to the post was the movie’s co-writer Dana Fox, who responded, “We turned it up a clock tick at our screening and it was ideal!!”

Audiovisual business Dolby, understood for premium movie theater screenings, reacted, “We’ve got you covered,” including a salute emoji.
Some users appeared puzzled by Chu’s post and were uninformed that private theatergoers might ask for a modification in the volume level of a movie screening. Others kept in mind that they went to Wicked screenings where the noise might have been louder.
