As if “Not Like United States” and Kendrick Lamar’s visitor verse on “Like That” weren’t adequate indicator that 2024 is his, the Compton rap artist scored his 3rd No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this year with “squabble up.” Declared on Monday (Dec. 2), the win came not long after GNX topped the Billboard 200 chart.
“Squabble up” was very first teased at the start of Lamar’s video for “Not Like United States” in July. In November, it got its own visual treatment including cameos from Taz Arnold, G Perico, Cuzzos, BACKONFIGG’s Smac, per REVOLT.
Debuting right behind “squabble up” at No. 2 was “television off.” The Lefty Gunplay-assisted record went viral on social networks thanks to Lamar’s Mustard chant in the latter half. “That s ** t was elite,” the beatmaker informed Signboard“Like, is that a brand-new tag? I can’t wait to carry out that tune and simply hear individuals simply stating that.”

It’s worth keeping in mind that the Compton rap artist’s big win ended Shaboozey’s record-equaling streak with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” for the longest-running No. 1. The Virginia artist formerly connected with Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” both holding the area for 19 weeks.
Whether Lamar will strike the roadway in promo of GNX is still up in the air, however fans can still anticipate seeing him carry out at the Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9, 2025.
