Steve Garcia would anticipate defending the BMF title over an undeniable UFC champion.
Garcia (17-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC), MMA Junkie's 2024 Under the Radar Fighter of the Year, is on a five-fight knockout streak. His amazing design made him a chance versus seasonal competitor Edson Barboza (24-12 MMA, 18-12 UFC) Feb. 22 at UFC Fight Night 252 from Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle (ESPN+).
Garcia likes absolutely nothing more than satisfying his challenger in the center and tossing down, which is why the concept of a BMF title delights him.
“If I would state that there's a title I choose to eliminate for, it would be the BMF title,” Garcia informed MMA Junkie Radio. “I've had the ability to knock out a great deal of these guys. There's absolutely nothing versus the undeniable title, however the indisputable title, you might actually win the undeniable title, and you can win on choices the entire time.
“You might win on submissions the entire time. You can be fantastic and do knockouts and things like that, too, however I believe the BMF title, the significance states everything. To be among the baddest guys to enter a cage, include my words, chingassos. You're going all out.”
The existing BMF champ is Max Holloway, which's a battle Garcia would definitely enjoy to have.
“I would like a battle with Max,” Garcia stated. “I'm such a big fan of him, however my goodness, if you wish to see something that can go off, I believe that would be a great battle. I think I've got to keep knocking individuals out and show individuals what I'm able to do to perhaps have that chance or that shot. I consider the BMF title more than I consider the undeniable title to be truthful.”
