Laura Lynch, an establishing member of The Dixie Chicks, was eliminated in a head-on crash in El Paso, Texas, authorities stated Saturday. She was 65.
Lynch was taking a trip eastbound on U.S. 62 when another cars and truck taking a trip in the opposite instructions tried to pass a car on a two-way concentrated part of the highway, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated.
The crash happened Friday around 5:45 p.m. regional time.
The band, which altered its name in 2020 to The Chicks, stated it was “surprised and saddened” by her death.
“We hold an unique location in our hearts for the time we invested playing music, chuckling and taking a trip together,” the band composed in a declaration.
“Laura was a brilliant light … her transmittable energy and humor provided a trigger to the early days of our band,” it stated. “Laura had a present for style, a love of all things Texas and contributed in the early success of the band. Her indisputable skills assisted move us beyond busking on street corners to phases all throughout Texas and the mid-West.”
Lynch was noticable dead at the scene, authorities stated. Authorities stated she was not using a seat belt. The other automobile captured on fire and the motorist was required to the health center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lynch was a co-founder of the group along with members Robin Lynn Macy, Martie Erwin and Emily Erwin in 1989, Billboard reported. She was the upright bass gamer and ultimately played a vocalist.
She tape-recorded 3 albums with the group before leaving. Natalie Maines changed her in the band.
