Charles Angel Salva, 30, of Fremont, California, was charged with disturbance with flight team members and attendants, the Justice Department stated recently.

Salva was jailed Wednesday for the Sept. 9 occurrence on a Frontier flight from John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana that was headed to San Francisco International Airport.

Soon after departure, Salva supposedly got his hand stuck in an overhead compartment while attempting to take down an oxygen mask.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office of Central District of California stated he then supposedly tossed profanities at flight attendants and screamed, “We are all going to hell,” and “This aircraft is decreasing!”

“Salva then got at fellow travelers and ran towards the back of the aircraft when flight attendants attempted to limit him,” the Justice Department stated in a news release. “Salva apparently then tried to choke a flight attendant, leaving 2 little marks on the victim’s neck.”

He then presumably “pressed another flight attendant and stated he was going to eliminate everyone.”

Travelers on the flight assisted limit Salva, however he broke out of the handcuffs and needed to be limited once again, the DOJ stated. “During the occurrence, Salva kicked one flight attendant around 6 times in the leg, triggering obvious bruising and swelling, which needed medical attention,” authorities included. The aircraft needed to be diverted to Ontario International Airport due to the fact that of the event.

Salva now deals with an optimal sentence of 20 years in federal jail.
