Due date reported on Tuesday that Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service will begin running ads for customers in the United States omitting Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Mariana Islands on January 29. It will start running advertisements in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Canada on February 5.
It will release advertisements in France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, and Australia later on in 2024.
There will not be advertisements on material acquired or leased.
The business is using an ad-free membership tier for an extra US$ 2.99 monthly on top of the base membership cost.
Agents of the business specified that the streaming service intends “to have meaningfully less advertisements than direct television and other streaming television companies.” The business even more mentioned that the advertisement profits will allow it to continue buying material.
