StarCraft has actually mainly been inactive given that Blizzard stopped upgrading StarCraft II in 2020 to concentrate on the future of the franchise. Now, there’s a report that Blizzard is taking another stab at making a StarCraft shooter after 2 previous efforts stopped working.

Jason Schreier, who composed the upcoming book, Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment, appeared on IGN’s Unlocked podcast where he exposed that the residues of the group behind Blizzard’s canceled survival video game are “breeding” a StarCraft shooter. Furthermore, the task is supposedly being supervised by Dan Hay, who is a veteran designer with experience on Ubisoft’s Far Cry video games.

StarCraft has an abundant folklore that is ripe with storytelling capacity, Blizzard hasn’t been able to totally equate that into a shooter. The very first effort, StarCraft: Ghost, began advancement in 2001 and it suffered in advancement for several years before Blizzard lastly ended. A 2nd shooter, StarCraft: Ares, was apparently canceled in 2019.

Previously this month, StarCraft Remastered and StarCraft 2 were revealed as upcoming titles on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Both titles will show up on November 5. Ideally the reaction to those video games will encourage Activision Blizzard and its brand-new owner, Microsoft, to lastly move on StarCraft 3.
