The Saturday Night Live alum shared she’s engaged to her long time partner– a male she’s formerly described as Jack and keeps a low profile– after 3 years of dating.
“I got engaged,” she informed Seth Meyers on the March 27 episode of Late Nightbefore joking: “You constantly stated, ‘No one will ever like you, and you will never ever get wed,’ you were incorrect!”
And while the 40-year-old’s fiancé formally proposed in December, Cecily absolutely saw it coming.
“It was not a surprise, however I am sort of an investigator,” she included. “We spoke about marrying and after that one day he resembled, ‘I’m so swamped with e-mails and texts, take a look at this,’ and he revealed me his phone, and the very first text was from a pal that stated ‘How did it go ring emoji.'”
Cecily continued, “And then I resembled, ‘Oh no, should I?’ and he went, ‘Did you see that?’ and I resembled, ‘I might attempt extremely tough to lie’ But– so then I understood.”
And given that the Schmigadoon! star learnt that her partner was preparing to propose, she believed she ‘d let him choose when he would formally ask her.
“I resembled, ‘Whenever you wish to do it, that’ll be the surprise,'” she discussed. “And then I had sort of a rough night in December, and I resembled, ‘Can I simply use the damn ring now?’ That’s how we got engaged.”
In addition to the surprise being messed up, Cecily and her partner dealt with another incident in the middle of their engagement.
“I do not understand my ring size, I use like every size ring,” she revealed. “So he took among those, and it was 5 sizes too huge– I was using it on my forefinger for a long period of time, not as a declaration, it simply would’ve fallen off.”

In spite of the missteps the couple dealt with for their proposition, and Jack’s personal identity, Cecily has actually been open about their romance in the past. She formerly presumed that her fiancé was a present from her late cousin Owen Strong, who passed away in 2020 from brain cancer.
