Chiefs WR Rashee Rice hauled off field after hit to knee

Kansas City Chiefs pass receiver Rashee Rice was hauled off the field throughout the group’s video game versus the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Rice was attempting to make a deal with after Patrick Mahomes tossed an interception when Mahomes– likewise trying a take on– dove into his knee. Rice had a towel over his head as he was removed the field, and he was dismissed for the video game with a knee injury.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid stated Rice’s injury was “bad” in a quick sideline interview as halftime was beginning.

Reid stated after the win that Rice would go through an MRI on the knee Monday.

“I feel dreadful for Rashee,” he informed press reporters.

A second-round choice in the 2023 NFL draft, Rice is the Chiefs’ prominent receiver this season. He got in Sunday with 24 catches for 288 lawns and 2 goals– the only Kansas City receiver with more than 10 catches or 100 backyards through 3 video games.

Novice wideout Xavier Worthy– a first-round choice– must get a chance to contribute in Rice’s lack. He captured a 54-yard goal pass from Mahomes versus the Chargers.

The Chiefs are currently thin on offense after an injury to running back Isiah Pacheco, the group’s leading rush from last season, who broke his fibula in Week 2 and was put on hurt reserve. Pacheco is not anticipated back till Week 8 at the earliest.

In the wake of Pacheco’s injury, Kansas City signed running back Kareem Hunt, who formerly had fun with the group in 2017-18.

Rice led the Chiefs with 7 goals last season. He was 2nd just to tight end Travis Kelce in receptions, targets and backyards, ending up the year with 79 catches for 938 backyards.

In April, Rice confessed to being the motorist of a Lamborghini that was associated with a supposed hit-and-run in Dallas. He gave up to Dallas authorities on April 11 after a warrant was put out for his arrest. The NFL chose not to put him on the commissioner’s exempt list, and it is monitoring his legal procedure.
