CoStar: Holidays and Natural Disasters Impact U.S. Hotel Performance

WASHINGTON– Due to Rosh Hashanah, the U.S. hotel market reported unfavorable year-over-year contrasts, according to CoStar’s most current information through Oct. 5, 2024.

Amongst the Top 25 Markets, Tampa saw the greatest year-over-year boosts in tenancy (up 24.1 percent to 81.3 percent) and RevPAR (up 22.1 percent to $125.39). As prevails around a natural catastrophe, the marketplace’s hotel efficiency was raised by displacement need from Hurricane Helene.

The steepest RevPAR decreases remained in Las Vegas (down 25.9 percent to $118.51) and Chicago (down 25.8 percent to $115.05).
