SANTA CLARA– Quarterback Brock Purdy had a lot to procedure in a brief amount of time from 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan’s play call to rapidly recognizing the Seattle defense.
Before he made his choice where to toss the football, he observed the feet of Seahawks security Jamal Adams.
Adams was stuck in between covering pass receiver Jauan Jennings in front of him and Deebo Samuel who was moving diagonally throughout the field behind him.
“He was sort of flat-footed,” Purdy stated of Adams, “and I resembled, ‘All right, with Deebo moving, we can overcome the top here.'”
Rather of tossing to Jennings, who was open as the No. 1 target in the development, Purdy chose to take the deep shot.
Samuel confessed he was not running hard since he did not believe the ball was coming his method. He kicked it into another equipment when he saw the ball flying his method.
