‘Harry Potter’ Actor Miriam Margolyes Says Adult Fans ‘Should Be Over’ the Franchise by Now: ‘It’s for Children’

“Harry Potter” star Miriam Margolyes is worried about adult fans of the cherished franchise.

“They ought to be over that by now,” Margolyes stated in a current interview with New Zealand’s 1News. “You understand, I suggest, it was 25 years earlier, and it’s for kids.Ibelieve it’s for kids.”

Margolyes played Professor Pomona Sprout, who taught herbology at Hogwarts and was head of the Hufflepuff House. She appeared in 2002’s “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” and 2011’s “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows– Part 2.”

“They get stuck in it,” Margolyes stated. “I do Cameos, and individuals state, ‘Oh, we’re having a “Harry Potter”-themed wedding event,’ and I believe, ‘Gosh, what’s their opening night of enjoyable going to be?’ I can’t even think of it. No.”

She acknowledged that the dream movie series is “fantastic” and that she’s “extremely grateful to it,” Margolyes restated that “it’s over.”

Back in June of in 2015, Margolyes shared a comparable belief with Vogue UK, stating that the “Harry Potter” franchise “does not suggest as much to me as it does” to the fans.
