In a blow to Donald Trump, Politico reports that GOP Senators are independently informing him that Matt Gaetz has long shot of getting verified as chief law officer. These Republicans hope Trump does not make them “stroll the slab,” suggesting they stay hesitant to openly challenge him, even to sink the exceptionally unsuited Gaetz. Simply put, it's now clear that a person of our only bulwarks versus an authoritarian Trump will be the GOP Senate.
