Series specifically streamed on Disney+ Japan beginning on Wednesday; to air on Japanese television on October 6

Hulu U.S. is streaming the anime adjustment of Junta Shima’s Murai in Love (Murai no Koi) manga, and is noting the series as a Hulu Original release. The anime’s very first episode is now readily available on the platform.
Disney+ began specifically streaming the anime on Wednesday in Japan. The anime will then premiere on the Tokyo MX, BS NTV, and Biwako channels on October 6 at 11:30 p.m. JST (10:30 a.m. EDT).

Yoshiki Yamakawa (Little Busters!, Hey There Score Girl, The Duke of Death and His Maid) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Susumu Yamakawa (Back Street Girls: Gokudols, Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House, The Way of the Househusband) is monitoring and composing the series’ scripts. Ruka Kawada is making up the music, and Jin Aketagawa is the sound director.
The manga centers on the titular Murai, a simple high school kid who admits his love for the instructor Tanaka, a lady who is a fan of otome video games for women. When Tanaka curtly declines Murai’s advances, Murai returns the next day an altered guy: brand-new hair, brand-new design, all replicating Tanaka’s preferred character from an otome video game. Now Murai sets out on his mission to be Tanaka’s dream guy.
Shima released the manga on the Line Manga service under Kadokawa’s Gene Line label in June 2018, and ended its serialization in June 2022. Kadokawa released 7 assembled book volumes for the manga.
The manga motivated a live-action series that ran for 8 episodes on TBS from April to May June 2022.
