Hyundai Has a New CEO

Starting on January 1, 2025, the Hyundai Motor Company will have a brand-new CEO. Jose Munoz was designated as the brand-new head of the Korean car manufacturer, prospering existing President and CEO Jaehoon Chang. Chang will be promoted to the Vice Chair of Hyundai Motor Group’s vehicle department.

Munoz is a Spanish business person who formerly acted as the CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America. Prior to that, he was the Chief Performance Officer for Nissan Motor Corporation and the Chairman of Nissan China and North America for over 15 years.

Munoz signed up with Hyundai in 2019 and assisted grow the portfolio with items like the Ioniq 5, and concentrated on broadening the brand name’s footprint nationwide. Under his management, Hyundai invested $12.6 billion towards a brand-new “Metaplant” and 2 brand-new joint battery endeavors in Georgia.

Munoz will finish up his period as CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America with the launching of the brand-new Ioniq 9 electrical SUV at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show. Like the smaller sized Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 9 was established under Munoz as part of his strategy to broaden the car manufacturer’s electrical portfolio.
