MIAMI– Kevin Holland eagerly anticipates the stylistic match vs. Michael Page.
Holland (25-10 MMA, 12-7 UFC) invites Page (21-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) to the octagon on Saturday’s UFC 299 (pay-per-view, ESPNews, ESPN+) primary card at Kaseya Center in Miami.
A fan preferred, Holland states he hasn’t been heckled by the U.K. fans at all as he intends to ruin their compatriot’s UFC launching.
“When I was combating a few of these other guys from various locations, they tend to come quite hard. I’ve kind of got a great relationship with everyone, and no, they’ve been quite great,” Holland informed MMA Junkie and other press reporters at a pre-fight news conference Wednesday. “I believe they understand this kid’s been residing in Texas for a very long time and he should not have an issue capturing a snake.”
Holland states he was aware of long time Bellator fighter Page, who charmed fans with many highlight-reel knockouts in his time there.
“I was a fan of his before he signed,” Holland stated. “But if I’m a fan of someone, I do not wish to invite them anywhere– unless it’s at my home … consume some barbecue or something like that. That sounds respectable. I do not understand. I viewed him in the past, yeah. I’m a fan of his work– yeah, absolutely.”
