Lonesome Mountains: Snow Riders, the ski-based follow up to designer Megagon Industries' well-known cycling video game Lonely Mountains: Downhill, now has a release date and is introducing for Xbox, PC, and Game Pass next Tuesday, 21st January.
As held true with 2019's Lonely Mountains: Downhill, Snow Riders is everything about obtaining from the leading to the bottom of those beautifully low-poly peaks as stylishly or as quickly as possible – albeit with those mountains now festooned with ice and blanketed in thick snow.
Snow Riders' thoroughly crafted mountains include the normal deluge of craftily hidden faster ways to look for in a quote to shave valuable seconds off descent times, and there's a brand-new techniques system too. The huge distinction is the intro of online multiplayer, turning what was formerly an occassionally tranquil singular pursuit into an extremely more disorderly affair.

Solo play is still offered, naturally, however it's signed up with by team-based co-op – which sees gamers sharing their restricted checkpoints – along with competitive races. Which's on top of obstacles to finish, plus brand-new devices, attire, and techniques to open along the method.
Lonesome Mountains: Downhill was an outright reward (Chris Tapsell called it “magic” when it made Eurogamer's leading choices list in 2019), and Snow Riders' current Steam demonstration recommends Megagon Industries has another winner on its hands. All will be exposed when it releases for Xbox, Steam, and Game Pass in precisely one week's time, on 21st January.
