Can we have “abruptly-announced news,” for $1000, please? “Sony has actually notified me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated variation of Jeopardy!,” Mayim Bialik stated in a social networks declaration on Friday. “I am exceptionally honored to have actually been chosen for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the chance to have actually belonged of the Jeopardy! household. For all of you who have actually supported me through this amazing journey and to the fans, entrants, authors, personnel and team of America’s Favorite Quiz Show, thank you.”

In a declaration to Vulture, Jeopardy! stated that the next season of the syndicated program will have one host “to keep connection for our audiences.” Who is … Ken Jennings? That’s appropriate! According to Jeopardy!, Jennings will be managing the hosting responsibilities. Does that mean we’ve currently seen Bialik’s last Jeopardy? Not always. “We are really grateful for all of Mayim’s contributions to Jeopardy!and we wish to continue to deal with her on primetime specials,” the program’s declaration stated. (Tournaments and primetime specials aren’t syndicated.)

Bialik’s visit as host was slammed by some fans who questioned her reliability due to questionable previous remarks relating to pseudoscience and Harvey Weinstein’s victims. Still, she went on to share Jeopardy! hosting tasks with Jennings for 2 years. In May 2023, Jennings briefly took control of due to the fact that Bialik declined to continue taping out of uniformity with the then-ongoing authors’ strike.
