A two-run crowning achievement by Francisco Lindor in the ninth inning of Game 1 moved the Mets to an 8-7 win. Atlanta protected a postseason area by blanking New York 3-0 in Game 2. The Mets will take a trip to Milwaukee for a Wild Card series match versus the Milwaukee Brewers while the Braves will compare versus the San Diego Padres.
The Los Angeles Dodgers declared the No. 1 seed total seed and will deal with the winner of the Braves or Padres in the Division Series. The Philadelphia Phillies ended the Braves’ six-season run as NL East champs and will handle the winner of the Mets/Padres series.
The New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians made preliminary byes as the leading 2 seeds in the American League. The Wild Card series will include the Houston Astros hosting the Detroit Tigers and the Baltimore Orioles dealing with the Kansas City Royals.
