In this image from Jan. 12, 2024, NASA astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli (left) and Loral O'Hara posture with a copy of “First Woman”, NASA's very first graphic book, inside the International Space Station's cupola. The interactive graphic unique narrates the experiences of imaginary astronaut Callie Rodriguez, the very first female to check out the Moon. Through Callie's journey, “First Woman” includes real-life innovations established by NASA to make it possible for future objectives to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Moghbeli and O'Hara were talked to by the graphic book's authors, and their experiences assisted establish Callie's character.
O'Hara, a previous Girl Scout, introduced to the spaceport station on Sept. 15, 2023, for a six-month stay. She and her fellow Expedition 70 team members study a range of microgravity phenomena to benefit people residing on and off the Earth. Moghbeli released to the International Space Station as Commander of NASA's SpaceX Crew-7 objective on Aug. 26, 2023. She went back to Earth with the rest of Crew-7 on March 12, 2024.
