Previously in December, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that a league source informed her NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wished to see the “tush push” quarterback sneak refined by the Philadelphia Eagles “eliminated from the video game completely.”
On Wednesday, Goodell didn’t take a position one method or another.
“I have not taken a position on that one,” he informed press reporters relating to the play. “Last year, the (guidelines) committee had a great deal of various views on that. I wish to hear that once again this year. I wish to hear how individuals feel about it. I believe we wish to take a look at, ‘Exists enough information to discuss the security of it?'”
The NFL’s executive vice president of interactions, Jeff Miller, stated that a league examination turned up “absolutely nothing noteworthy” concerning the capacity for increased injuries on “Brotherly Shove” plays, while executive vice president of football operations, Troy Vincent, recommended the Eagles should not be penalized for performing it at a high level:
