Particularly, Petron will utilize 320 MW of Verdagy's eDynamic electrolyzers to produce over 45 kilotons per year (KTA) of green hydrogen for combination into its biorefinery job for the production of e-methanol, sustainable air travel fuel (SAF) and sustainable diesel.
According to Verdagy, this will lead to a CO2e decrease of 500 KTA or over 15 megatons by green hydrogen alone, and integrated with biorefinery, in a decrease of 2 megatons/year or over 60 megatons of CO2e through the job life time.
Verdagy's CEO Marty Neese stated: “We're thrilled to work together with Petron to grow the SAF and biofuels markets. Verdagy's objective is to supply green hydrogen at fossil parity expenses, without aids, within 5 years, to drive mass adoption and to meaningfully lower carbon emissions. Our electrolyzers combine perfectly in real-time with sustainable periodic energy sources, and our industry-leading performance and running variety take full advantage of possession usage, resulting in the most affordable levelized expense of hydrogen (LCOH) on the planet today.”
Petron Scientech's CEO Yogi Sarin commented: “Petron is establishing numerous sustainability focused, low carbon strength rating, biorefineries lowering countless lots of carbon emissions compared to fossil feed stock-based fuels, chemicals and plastics. The business is engaged with leading airline companies for offtake of SAF used Petron's ethanol and bio-ethylene innovations and with shipping business for offtake of e-Methanol, produced utilizing green hydrogen.”
“We were looking for a green hydrogen and oxygen option partner that incorporates well with our biorefineries/renewable chemicals, has leading efficiency and the innovation know-how to scale to numerous GWs in a capital effective way. Verdagy fits the costs completely, and we are happy and eagerly anticipate teaming up with the business on numerous jobs internationally.”
To keep in mind, electrolyzers will be made in Verdagy's recently opened gigawatt-scale electrolyzer factory in Newark, California. The factory, stated to be the very first Department of Energy (DOE)-supported electrolyzer center to open in the U.S., includes more than 100,000 square feet of producing area with the capability to produce numerous gigawatts of electrolyzers.
