A pet rescuer who served the Fayette County Animal Shelter lost his life in an aircraft crash while providing 3 pets from Maryland to Albany, NY. 2 of the pet dogs lived, consisting of one who dug a hole in the snow with damaged legs to make it through winter season in the Catskills Mountains.
