According to USA Today, the event took place on Thursday, January 2. Around 3 p.m., authorities at the Ewing Police Department apparently got calls about "heavy smoke and flames originating from the front of the structure."
When on the scene, deputies were apparently notified about a kid who was "caught on the 4th flooring." In action, authorities left the complex and tried to reach the kid's area.
