Oscar Nominated Writer/Director Charles Shyer Dies; ‘Private Benjamin’, ‘Father Of The Bride’ Filmmaker Was 83
Oscar chose film writer, director, and manufacturer Charles Shyer whose movies consist of Personal Benjamin, Baby Boom, and the 1991 remake of Daddy Of The Bride and its 1995 follow up Daddy Of The Bride II passed away Friday. No cause of death was provided. He was 83.
The Meyers-Shyer household shared this declaration with Deadline: "It's with an indescribably aching heart that we share the news of our precious daddy, Charles Shyer's death. His loss leaves an unfillable hole in our lives, however his tradition resides on through his kids and the 5 years of terrific work he's left. We honor the remarkable life he led and understand there will never ever be another rather like him."
