In 2017, on the eve of his inauguration, Donald Trump made a vibrant and inadvertently funny forecast: His son-in-law, Jared Kushner, was going to bring peace to the Middle East. "If [Jared] can't produce peace in the Middle East, no one can," Trump stated, including, "All my life, I've been hearing that's the hardest offer to make, however I sense Jared is going to do an excellent task."
