The closure of a Methodist chapel on Tyneside

The last 9 members sat high in the choir stalls, where we might see them. Now in their seventies, some had actually been members considering that they were kids. They all looked delighted, or at any rate, alleviated.
The church itself, integrated in red brick by the United Methodists in South Shields in 1905, looked implacably the very same.
