On the Campaign Trail, Democrats Call Out Opponents on Abortion
As Nov. 5 methods and the battle for control of the U.S. House reaches a fever pitch, Democrats are doing whatever they can to connect their Republican challengers to their antiabortion ballot records. Some Republican prospects, on the other hand, appear to be softening their positions. And political experts state it's part of a bigger pattern playing out nationwide, up and down the tally.
"The politics of abortion and reproductive health can get citizens to get involved at greater rates," stated David McCuan, a government teacher at Sonoma State University. "Republicans need to moderate their position if they're going to remain in the fight."
