He broke his neck at 17. Now he’s fighting for the Chili Bowl prize
In 2021, Daison Pursley was racing a midget automobile in Arizona when his whole life altered. Fighting another chauffeur for a possibility to make it to the next round, he crashed, his vehicle turning a number of times in a mishap that left the then-17-year-old with a damaged neck, his C4 vertebra totally shattered. At the healthcare facility, physicians hurried him into surgical treatment. Pursley got up to find out that he was now an "insufficient quadriplegic"-- a term for partial paralysis in all 4 limbs.
Pursley, blessedly, does not keep in mind much from that scary minute.
