Nick Sorensen not returning as 49ers protective planner Jan 07, 2025
For a 3rd successive offseason, the San Francisco 49ers will be looking for a brand-new protective planner.
The 49ers will not keep Nick Sorensen as their protective planner following a 6-11 season in which the team completed 29th in points enabled, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday night.
There is a possibility Sorensen will stay on the personnel, however it will not be as the leader of head coach Kyle Shanahan's defense.
Naturally, one name that will leap to the top of the list of prospective replacements is Robert Saleh, who was fired this previous year as New York Jets head coach and was the Niners' DC from 2017-2020.
