It begins with 2 brother or sisters, Emily and Chester, being sent out to their grandad's home for summer season break in the 1960s. They're disappointed about going, grumbling that there'll be absolutely nothing to do in drowsy Bloomtown which they 'd rather remain in Chicago. As quickly as they begin settling in, though, it emerges that Bloomtown has a lot more to it than at first satisfies the eye.
