The 46-year-old nation vocalist (born Jason Head) was hospitalized on Friday (Nov. 15) after the gun he was managing released and struck him in the stomach. The news was initially reported by TMZ.

The occurrence took place when the vocalist's gun “slipped out of the holster, struck the side of the Jeep, and released into his stomach location,” an agent for Head informed CBS News.
In a Facebook post through her hubby's account, Head's spouse, Misty, verified that the artist remained in steady condition and clarified that the shooting was not the outcome of a deliberate act or a searching rifle.
“It was not his searching rifle and no nobody shot him,” Misty Head composed. “He ran out the car reaching in to get his 22 when he got it the 22 came out of its holster and struck the outside of the Jeep perfect and went off. Sundance stated it occurred so quick and he might see the bullet dislodging.”
