LAS VEGAS– Thiago Moises beat Mitch Ramirez with a third-round TKO Saturday on the initial card at UFC Fight Night 239 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Have a look inside the battle with Moises, who put Ramirez away thanks to leg kicks– a UFC rarity.
Moises on the battle’s crucial minute
“That’s precisely how I saw the battle going. I understood that I needed to outmaneuver him, be quicker, be wise, since I’m much better than him all over. Striking, grappling– he’s simply a really strong guy and he likes to brawl. The one thing that I could not do was brawl with him. I kept the strategy and whatever went according to how we prepared.”
Moises on his leg kicks
“I understood if he kept taking those kicks, it was going to accumulate and he could not take a lot longer. Every kick I was providing, I was, ‘OK, this was a tough one.’ ‘OK, this was a difficult one.’ I might feel what’s tough. I might feel that he was getting hurt. I simply kept kicking and every time he went back to the corner, I was looking at his calf. I might see like the contusion and the inflamed on his calf. OK, that might be a method to win this battle.”
Moises on what he desires next
“I believe (Dan Hooker) would be a terrific battle. He trains with Brad Riddell. I was expected to eliminate Brad Riddell. Brad took out, so I believe it would be excellent if he steps. That would be fantastic. I do not understand why he’s ranked so high due to the fact that he does not combat typically.
“He lost a number of battles and he chooses his battles. I battle anyone. Any person they put in front of me, I battle. I never ever state no to anyone. He picks excessive, a lot of battles. I believe it would be a great battle. I believe it would be a great match and might be a centerpiece for a UFC Fight Night.”
