Metaphor: ReFantazio wins the huge reward

Back in early December, we highlighted the 6 video games that were chosen as the very best Xbox titles of the year as part of the IGN Awards 2024, along with the 14 video games that were up for the greatest award of all – Game of the Year.
We didn’t understand the outcomes at the time, and now we do! And, when it pertains to the general Game of the Year, Xbox ended up in a “runner-up” area with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, while Metaphor: ReFantazio wound up taking the huge reward.
Here’s how it ended:

Surprisingly, taking a look at the fan votes on IGN’s site, Black Myth: Wukong was the leading choice for the Game of the Year award, which IGN just highlighted as an “honourable reference”. The IGN Awards are voted on by the outlet’s material group, however if they were based around votes on the site, Indiana Jones would have ended up in 4th location.
Beyond that, Indiana Jones undoubtedly took home the “Best Xbox Game” award. Dungeons Of Hinterberg and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 were initially chosen, however lost out on the “Runner-Up” areas. Here’s the list:

- STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl (Runner-Up)
